Usafi green energy limited was first launched in 2021 March in Turkana county to help solve the clean energy solutions crisis.
It's Founder Brian Onyango Oiro previously worked for various companies as a consultant on biomass research study in Kakuma refugees camps back in 2018 and 2017.
"I realized more needs to be done not just bussiness and someone needs to take serious action to help this conjested population who lacks this critical products" He Said.
Through support from various organizations to set up a factory in Kakuma town and Thika town, Usafi green energy commenced production of clean fuel "Briquettes" and clean cookstoves our brand "Silver Bora". So far we have sold over 27,201 cookstoves and over 421 ,000 Tonnes - of Briquettes to both domestic and industries in Kenya and refugees camps. Through diversity we have contracted over 120 business vendors who stock and resell our products. Due to this demand we had to add distribution of solar home system as a potential market and we have so far sold over 452 units of solar Product.
We offer consultant services in regards to clean energy solutions namely clean fuel biomass and cookstoves operations. Some of key clients have benefited are FAOKE NGO Kakuma, Nyinam Briquettes Siaya, Firefuelwinds Kilifi, Naivasha Briquettes among others.
Offering clean energy solutions under SDG7 is our prime priority with our ongoing product development on E-cooking activations too.

Brian Onyango is the CEO and Founder of Usafi Green Energy Limited incharge of overal growth of the company and partnerships. With over 10 years experience in clean energy solutions and climate change advocacy he leads with skills and knowledge to ensure equity and fairness in access to clean energy as a champion. He is also the current Chairman of UBPA (United briquettes producers association of Kenya) an umbrella body supporting impact by producing briquettes across kenya. He is also a biomass and PURE expert and more importantly a humanitarian energy expert having worked very closely with NGO's such as UNHCR, SNV, Welt Hungle life, DRC and FAO as an energy expert.
With a bachelor in Accounts and Finance from Jkuat university and having worked in finance department at Keep Green in Nairobi as finance assistant. He takes charge of the company finance activities and ensure the company keeps fit in its operations with support on financial needs. He brings over 4 years experience from financial space and over 3 years of management skills at the company. He sits at the main head office coordinating other sector department and managing finances.
Monica Wambua brings 5 years of experience in data management having worked at IPSOS research centre. She manages our company clients data and also communicate directly with the clients or customers to get feedbacks on how best we can serve and continue to improve our services. She helps our distributors with close communications on any new product development or new upcoming plans for the company in light with our policy framework guidelines with our agents across kenya.
Christine brings 5 years experience in marketing portfolio having worked in the solar sector for 3 years as regional sales manager in asal region. He manages our sales data and ensure marketing activities are well maintained. He is tasked to reach out in new markets and manages a team of 5 sales team at the company who ensures our products are well established into the markets.
Our office administrator incharge of kakuma operations. She manages key inventory and site ERP management system. Esther brings over 3 years experience in front office space having worked in mkopa and other key solar companies in Kenya.
Treezer brings over 6 years of marketing in asal region and kakuma refugees camps. She manages sales in Asal region with close contact of sales with our agents and distributors who stocks our products for sales. She manages a small team of 3 in asal who ensure our products are well distributed with them.
As the board chairperson I Marco wishes all our partners a grateful cooperation and support we have been working together. As the company shift from being more of a start up to now transition to next phase of growth to seed growth. We invite more partners and stakeholders to join us and help us elevate the company to the next level phase action plan 2025 - 2030.
Through the board meetings we have improved the level of service delivery and ensure the company works to create a lasting impact. Having been the leading cookstoves and briquettes producers in asal region and supporting the kakuma refugees camp, More needs to be done and we shall always ensure we improve and help the company to invest into new technologies and innovations to elevate its service delivery
For partnership we are currently seeking USD 540,000 for our next phase of growth 2025 - 2030. The resources with help the company set up new factory and acquire new modern automated modern machines. Also increase the productivity to 70% and reach more homes with our clean cooking solutions services. We aim to impact 350,000 households and plant over 32000 trees , Install over 2000 institutional cookstoves to schools in Asal regions by 2030. This is a huge vision that needs investment and support to realise this achievement. The company has already demonstrated its will and ability to ensure this is achieved by already impacting the marginalised communities.
